Installed Safes are Wall or In-Floor safes that are secured into wall framing or sunk into concrete and can be concealed. These safe are generally made of steel and have no fire protection and burglar resistance. |

These safe are generally made of steel and may or may not have fire protection and /or burglar resistance. Interiors are generally covered in felt, carpet or plush material. Gun Safes can also be equipped with interior options or compartments. |

Fire Safes are designed to protect against heat and are not recommended to protect against theft. Fire safes are tested in ovens with temperatures ranging from 1800°f to 2000°f and the interior temperature will not exceed 350°f for the time period stated with the safe (paper will begin to char at 450°f). |

Media Coolers & Data Safes are designed to protect items with low melting points from heat and are not recommended to protect against theft. Media Coolers & Data Safes are tested in ovens with temperatures ranging from 1800°f to 2000°f and the interior temperature will not exceed 125°f for the time period stated with the safe (computer disks will begin to deform at 150°f). |

Burglar Safes are rated by how they are made and what tests they have passed (if any). The burglar rating is usually referred to as a "class" or "U. L. Rate". Burglar safe ratings determine what value can be protected inside each type of safe but generally the more valuable the items the bigger and heavier the safe should be. |

Deposit safes are generally made of steel and do not have a burglar rating or fire protection, however there are burglar/fire safes with an internal deposit compartment available. Deposit safes are used for temporary storage of items such as cash register overages or cash deposits and are not recommended for overnight or unattended storage. |
